‘Kimia’ star wins award in Italy

‘Kimia’ star Mehraveh Sharifinia has won an award at Diamond Film Awards in Italy.

The young Iranian actress has taken home the Best Actress award of the film event for her role in Shokoufa Karimi’s short film ‘Pedestrian’.

Written by Haleh Moshtaghinia, the film narrates the story of an Afghan woman who crosses the border and comes to Iran illegally. Her husband accompanies her on this trespass.

The star of the film is Mehraveh who has been born to two well-known Iranian actors Mohammad-Reza Sharifinia and Azita Hajian.

She started off as a child star with a role in Mohammad-Reza Honarmand’s 'Doll Thief' when she was eight.

Since then, she has appeared in movies such as 'Masoumeh', 'A Girl Named Tondar', 'Look at Me', 'Nightmare', 'The Outcasts 2', 'If it Rains', 'A Simple Romance’, 'A Line of Truth', 'The Stories', and 'Story of My Father's Love'.

She has also acted in series such as 'Imam Ali (AS)', 'Day of Envy', 'The Chef', 'Heart of Ice', 'Goodbye Child', and 'Kimia', some of which have been aired by the channel.

Also among the cast of 'Pedestrian' are Sepand Amir-Soleymani, Mahlagha Baqeri, and Shabnam Farshadjou.

The latest edition of the Diamond Film Awards aimed at promoting films, helping filmmakers to improve their careers.
